Pro Junior 2016 organised by Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) finally culminated with a Grand Finale as 15 Finalists put in their best foot forward to vie for top honours. The event saw a slew of top schools competing under one roof at MREI in a first of its kind contest that took place in India at such massive level. The winners’ takeaways were more than a lac of rupees! Over 50 Schools from Pan India took part in GD Pro Junior 2016 which was conducted in a comprehensive 4 level process that commenced on 25th July 2016, starting with the preliminary round with involvement of all participants and ending with the Grand Finale on 6th August 2016 which saw the coming together of the worthy finalists. The prelims and quarterfinals were successfully concluded in Jaipur, Faridabad, Central Delhi, Southwest Delhi, Ludhiana and Noida. The Finale witnessed the gracious presence of Dr Hanif Qureshi, Commissioner of Police, Faridabad while Shri H.K. Batra, Managing Director, L.R. Foods Limited was the Guest of Honour. Also present on the occasion were Dr Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI; Dr N.C. Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, MRIU; among other Senior Dignitaries, Guests, Principals, Parents and Students.The topic that held centre stage at the Finale was ‘Swachh Bharat: Just a Movement or Changing Attitude of the People’with a view to tickling the thinking chords of the 15 Finalists. What followed was a scintillating group discussion session where reactions and opinions flew thick and fast. While Pranshala of Lotus Valley School bagged the Winners prize; it was Ashu Chandra of MRIS Charmwood who bagged the Ist Runners Up position and Anushka Thapar of Satpaul School, Ludhiana, who won the Second Runners Up position. The prizes were a comprehensive list including participation certificate to all, gift hampers for semifinalists, Hampers for the 15 finalists, attractive Cash Prize and travel vouchers which comprises a sponsored trip from EdTerra at their learning camps within India. Congratulating the students for their stupendous success, Dr Hanif Qureshi said, “It is a pleasure to see young faces with such high levels of energy and enthusiasm, expressing themselves so instinctively and within such a short span. Children of today’s world have such analytical minds and displayed such amazing presence of mind. The group dynamics evident at the session is a true reflection of life.” He also added that the art of persuasion is based on three essential components: Logos (Logic), Ethos (based on a credible story and quotes from people who matter) and Pathos (based on emotions). It is noteworthy that GD Pro will be back in an all new version of GDPro Series in July 2017 unleashing a fresh bout of energy and enthusiasm.
