Faridabad(standard news)…..Negligence and casual attitude towards Safety is the root cause of Accidents in any enterprise – said Mr. J.P. Malhotra, President HSPC at the Half Day Training Programme organised by HSPC on the subject of “Industrial Fire Safety & Management”. Fire Safety needs skill, knowledge and operation of safety equipment which should be adequate and accessible. It is utmost important that safety equipment be it fire extinguisher, helmet, goggles, tools etc. should be in working order and HR/Time office representative should ensure periodic working. Safety is everybody’s concern. He stressed upon the need of simple display of procedures on use of safety equipments. There has to be a place for everything and everything has to be placed according to 5S guidelines.Inaugurating the Training Seminar, Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Grover, Dean Academic Manav Rachna International University said that industrial disasters are low in frequency but are very significant in the terms of loss of lives, injuries, environmental impact and property damage. It is essential to identify/examine the causes of industrial accidents and take steps to control them. Need and concern for safety is therefore need of the hour. To prevent the occurrence of accidents, unsafe acts have to be eliminated or checked. Personal adjustment, change of technique, operator training, publicity and education about accident prevention play vital role in elimination of unsafe acts. A safety programme like the one organised by HSPC today is a continuous process and tries to decrease the influence of personal and environmental factors which cause accidents.Mr. A.N. Sharma, Member Executive Committee HSPC appreciated the need of Training Programme on such critical areas of Industrial Fire Safety where any mistake can be costly resulting in loss of productivity and proposed Vote of Thanks for all the managements who have deputed their officers and staff.The Training was conducted by Mr. R.K. Gulati, Sr. Manager EHS Tecumseh Products India Pvt. Ltd. and attended by 32 participants from industrial organistions such as Imperial Auto Industries, Psychotropics India, HPL Additives, Pranav Vikas India, Bhartiya Valves, Whirlpool, Shivani Locks, Lakhani Footwear etc.According to Mr. J.P. Malhotra, President HSPC has come a long way in assessing the needs and requirements of training in Industry and has over the last 14 months successfully ventured to organise Training Workshops, Seminars, Lectures on subjects such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Supply Chain Management, Labour Laws, Productivity – QCD, Soft Skills, First Aid, Accident Prevention, 7QC Tools, SPC, Fire Safety, Leadership Build up, ESI Schemes, pprenticeship Yojna, Make in India etc. at regular interval. The faculty conducting such events has been resourced from Industry, Practitioners, Consultants and Area Experts. Thousands of middle level managers, supervisors and line staff have found these trainings useful and helpful in enhancing Productivity of the organisation – said Mr. J.P. Malhotra.
